Welcome to Udaan eBike. This site covers the Indian electric vehicle and automobile market with a focus on careful research, verified specifications, and clearly sourced information. Most of what you read here is written or edited by Garima Thakur, an automobile writer based in Delhi NCR.
What this blog actually is
Udaan eBike is a research-driven publication. The team reads manufacturer spec sheets, official press releases, regulatory filings (FAME-II, ARAI certification documents, BIS standards), industry reports from SIAM and SMEV, and aggregated owner feedback from public forums like Team-BHP, Reddit r/IndiaSpeaks, and verified Google Reviews on dealership listings. Articles are written to help Indian buyers compare options, understand running costs, and avoid common buying mistakes.
We do not pretend to own every vehicle we write about. When an article uses an owner quote or a long-term reliability observation, it is sourced from public reviews and forum discussions, and where possible we cite the source.
About the author
Garima Thakur is a Delhi NCR-based automobile writer covering the Indian two-wheeler, four-wheeler, and EV segments. Her work focuses on practical buyer-side information: cost-of-ownership math, real-world range expectations vs ARAI claims, service network coverage, and which features actually matter for Indian road conditions. She has been writing on Indian automotive topics for several years across blogs and freelance assignments.
How we work
- Prices and specifications are taken from official manufacturer websites and verified the same week an article is published or updated. We list ex-showroom prices unless otherwise stated, and we note that on-road price will vary by city, state RTO charges, and insurance choice.
- Range and mileage figures clearly separate ARAI-certified numbers from real-world owner reports. The two are often very different and we say so.
- Comparison articles use the same testing parameters across vehicles. If a parameter is not available from a manufacturer (or is only available in a press release), we say so rather than fill in a guess.
- Updates and corrections: articles are reviewed periodically. If a price changes, a recall is announced, or a specification is updated, the article is revised and a short update note is added at the top.
Editorial independence
Udaan eBike does not publish paid reviews. If we ever do receive a vehicle on loan from a manufacturer for testing, the article will say so plainly at the top. We display Google AdSense advertising to support the site, but advertising does not influence editorial content or which vehicles get covered. Affiliate links, where used, will be disclosed.
When we get something wrong
We will. The Indian EV market moves fast and prices, variants, and software features change quarterly. If you spot an error or an outdated fact, please email us. Corrections are usually issued within a working week along with a short note at the top of the affected article.
